Dr. Izat began work at Texas A&M University in 2010, and currently serves as a Senior Research Development Officer in the TAMU Health & Kinesiology Department after serving in the TAMU Division of Research for nine years and on the faculty at West Texas A&M University. His work currently focuses on faculty proposal development for individual and group submissions to federal funding agencies including the NIH, NSF, NASA, USDA and others. In addition to consulting with research active faculty, Dr. Izat co-leads the Junior Faculty Proposal Writing Academy (JFA) program, a vertically integrated suite of proposal development resources. He has also created and delivered approximately two dozen research development seminars and workshops annually on various aspects of internal and external research proposal development. In February 2017, Dr. Izat was awarded the Texas A&M University President’s Meritorious Service Award for service to faculty.
